From the Handsworth Gang Show...to Kandersteg...

Hi all, Just a few words before I go off to Kanderstag to join the Scouts already out there.

Hopefully most of you will have booked tickets to go and see the Handsworth Gang Show at The Crescent theatre in Birmingham. I went along tonight with my wife Andrea and boy what a great show. The cast, which comprised of Cubs up to Leaders, put on a magnificent show which had me laughing, crying and singing. Absolutely brilliant!! Thanks to all that took part both on stage, behind the scenes and organising, as I said at the time, you make me feel proud to be part of Scouting and I am proud that you are all part of Birmingham County.

If you haven't yet bought tickets then get in touch with the crew, I am sure there will still be some available, it's a show not to be missed.

As I mentioned above, today I am off to Kanderstag to visit the Scouts who are already having fun. Myself, Andy Lloyd, Kris Hennegan and Nick Thomas are all on the same flight. Could be interesting as Kris has threatened to wear his shorts, considering its -8 at the moment rising to -5 when we get there!

I am looking forwards to having fun with the Scouts, and as a good Scout should be, I think I'm well prepared...I've got my 'Eddie The eagle' snow goggles, salopettes and ski jacket and have taken the added precaution of having a couple of Ski Lessons so not as to look a complete idiot in front of the Scouts. I've also decided to brave the 24hr coach journey back which I am sure will be great fun. I will write another blog when I get back to update you on our adventures.

Regards

Rick
