Rea Valley Scout District
In Rea Valley District, we have twenty Groups with nine Explorer units and a Network unit. All sections have a very healthy and active programme of district and group–based events, with members supporting activities hosted by County, National and International organisations. We have been proud to have supported Scouts, Explorers and leaders that took part in the World Jamboree in Sweden during August 2011.
Scouting in Rea Valley is adventure. We are keen to provide an opportunity for young people to make new friends and learn a variety of life skills. Adult volunteers and young leaders are able to share new expertise and develop their leadership, confidence and talents, building a programme of adventurous and inspiring activities. The district boasts a diary packed full of activities and camps, as well as supporting the programme of County events.
Most groups in Rea Valley have Beaver, Cub and Scout sections, with many reaching bursting point. Some sections are unfortunately burdened with waiting lists for the younger sections and we desperately need new adult helpers to introduce new opportunities to those youth waiting to join the movement. Whether you are young or not–so young, you my have skills that can be shared with others, and Scouting probably has new experiences for you too. Even if you only have one evening a month we would still like to welcome you to the Rea Valley Scouting family.
