iJam Festival
Welcome to iJam Festival
After the success of iJam@Bham we are now looking forward to the iJam Festival, a series of events for all sections which will be fun, activity based sessions. More information on each of these is here.
Beaver Christmas Around The World Saturday 5th December 1.00 - 3.40pm/6 - 6.30pm.
An afternoon of Christmas festive fun.
Cub The Hunt For Christmas Saturday 12th December 10am and 6.30pm
A partnership between Birmingham Scouts and Girl Guiding working with the Jo Cox Foundation. The County Commissioners for both Birmingham Scouts and Guides have agreed that the More in Common badge can be worn on the uniform and will be provided free of charge to members who have completed the requirements. This results from a generous donation in memory of the late Jean Rookes, who worked jointly for many years, with Peter, in working for a friendlier, more compassionate society.
How to gain the badge
To gain the badge, members should complete activities from the list below.
- Hedgehogs, Beavers and Rainbows complete 2 activities
- Cubs and Brownies complete 3 activities
- Scouts and Guides complete 4 activities
- Explorers and Rangers complete 5 activities
We have partnered with Hereford & Worcs, Gloucs and Shropshire Scouts to take part in Shirehike. Together we have assembled a list of over 90 walks and hikes across the counties. Ranging from urban parks to more challenging routes, all walks are given a star rating based on their distance. We hope everyone can take part, from our youngest Beaver Scouts right through to our Network members and adult volunteers. Shirehike runs from 5th December 2020 until 14th March 2021 and all walks completed and logged in that time can count towards your Shirehike badge.
We have our Explorer event 'Brumopoly' ready to go when we can meet face to face. A date will be arranged for this event soon.
The most important thing is that you spread the word to your section members so that as many people can take part as possible.

We are fully aware of the importance of the safety of our young people and adults, especially in online situations. Sessions that are streamed to YouTube will be unlisted, meaning they are only available to people who have the link. We would also encourage parents to take part to help minimise against ‘accidental’ inappropriate content. Importantly, we rely on leaders to get the links for the sessions to their young people. We ask that these not be posted on public websites, Facebook pages or forums, but rather are in emails, texts or WhatsApp message to your members/parents.
LoveBham
Rather than charging for these events we are instead asking our members to donate to local charity LoveBrum. This can be a personal donation, or maybe your section/group can work together to raise some funds to donate. Either way, it would be amazing if as a County we can help some excellent local causes at this tough time.
