iJam Festival

Welcome to iJam Festival

After the success of iJam@Bham we are now looking forward to the iJam Festival, a series of events for all sections which will be fun, activity based sessions. More information on each of these is here.

Virtual Cub Brum Challenge will be held over the Saturday and Sunday 26th and 27th September. Lots of fantastic activities planned and a great chance to start the term with a super event. Young People need to register to take part and get more information by completing this simple registration form.

As we can’t run BrumVenture 2020 as the normal weekend camping at Pikes Pool, we will be running Virtually BrumVenture 2020 in its place so that everyone can still take part, gain an activity badge and gain the next BrumVenture participation badge.

The event will take place over the weekend of 2nd-4th October 2020.

The event will run virtually using Zoom meetings with badge bases meeting and helping you gain your chosen badge over the course of the weekend with interactive sessions, videos, quizzes and more. We will also be meeting as a whole ‘virtual camp’ each day with an opening and closing ceremony as well as evening entertainment. Those that ‘camp’ at home will also gain additional nights away.

We have some new badges on offer this year as well as some of your old favourites:

  • Astronautics
  • Chef
  • Communicator
  • Craft
  • Photographer
  • Digital Maker Level 2 - New for Virtually BrumVenture
  • Navigator - New for Virtually BrumVenture

You will need to have access to Zoom on a laptop or Computer as the sessions will not be suitable for viewing and interacting on mobile phones. Some badges may also benefit from some parent/guardian support over the course of the weekend.
Applications will be open until Tuesday 22nd September after which we will be allocating places on badges and communicating this via email.

The Beaver team are currently preparing the programme for this event so come back for more information and the booking form.

Our annual service of remembrance will take place on the 7th November. We will be announcing the format and more details shortly.

We will be holding an Explorer event later in the year. Planning is underway and more details will be published soon...watch this space.

We know it is early but we are planning some exciting Christmas themed events - more information to follow.

The most important thing is that you spread the word to your section members so that as many people can take part as possible.
If you would like to help organise, help with IT or promote the events then please email us - info@birminghamscouts.org.uk

We are fully aware of the importance of the safety of our young people and adults, especially in online situations. Sessions that are streamed to YouTube will be unlisted, meaning they are only available to people who have the link. We would also encourage parents to take part to help minimise against ‘accidental’ inappropriate content. Importantly, we rely on leaders to get the links for the sessions to their young people. We ask that these not be posted on public websites, Facebook pages or forums, but rather are in emails, texts or WhatsApp message to your members/parents.

Rather than charging for these events we are instead asking our members to donate to local charity LoveBrum. This can be a personal donation, or maybe your section/group can work together to raise some funds to donate. Either way, it would be amazing if as a County we can help some excellent local causes at this tough time. More info about the causes LoveBrum supports and how you can be part of selecting local charities can be found on their
