Applications for this years BrumVenture 2018 are now live!! BrumVenture is an activity badge weekend that has been specifically developed for Scouts, who over the course of the weekend, will take part in one of thirteen different activity badge courses. Scouts are be able to choose from the following badges:
- Angler ( Scouts must have fished at least once previously and Scouts must be 12 or over on date of activity)
- Master-at-Arms (Archery)
- Master-at-Arms (Rifles)
- Emergency Aid Stage 4
By the end of the weekend, not only will Scouts have had the opportunity to gain the activity badge, but also will be among the few to earn the much sought after ‘BrumVenture Award’. All activities take place on the same weekend in October at Pikes Pool near Bromsgrove.
The 2018 event will be held on Friday 5th October to Sunday 7th October with the Launch event on Wednesday 12th September 2018 at Trefoil House, Brownsea Drive, Blucher Street, Birmingham B1 1QL.
Due to the popularity of the event we will be continuing with the application process we used last year to ensure everyone has the same opportunity to attend BrumVenture and to avoid the initial application rush. As before applications will no longer require a signature of a leader, instead just the leader email address. All applications received with payment by 21st April 2018 will go into a ballot and will be drawn at random, overseen by an independent adjudicator. on the 27th April 2018. Participants will then be allocated to badges based on their choices and the availability of places when their application is drawn. Participants will be advised of their badge allocation in the following week. For adults wanting to assist there is a link to the application form.
