BrumVenture is an activity badge weekend that has been specifically developed for Scouts, who over the course of the weekend, will take part in one of thirteen different activity badge courses.
By the end of the weekend, not only will Scouts have had the opportunity to gain the activity badge, but also will be among the few to earn the much sought after ‘BrumVenture Award’. All activities take place on the same weekend in October at Pikes Pool near Bromsgrove.
The 2020 event will be held virtually on Friday 2nd October to Sunday 4th October with a reduced number of badges and a virtuall format.
Due to the popularity and demand for Young Leader places for the 2020 event places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
1. Those who have achieved their Silver badge but are now too old to attend as a Scout (10.5-14.5 years old) to gain their Gold award
2. Those who have attended BV previously and achieved any other BV badge
3. Those that have never attended BV
If places are over-subscribed at any stage of the above allocation, applications will be allocated on a ballot basis to ensure fairness. The link to the YL application form is with the other event forms in the section below.
Applications for Virtually BrumVenture 2020 are now live...
As we can’t run BrumVenture 2020 as the normal weekend camping at Pikes Pool, we will be running Virtually BrumVenture 2020 in its place so that everyone can still take part, gain an activity badge and gain the next BrumVenture participation badge. The event will take place over the weekend of 2nd-4th October 2020.
The event will run virtually using Zoom meetings with badge bases meeting and helping you gain your chosen badge over the course of the weekend with interactive sessions, videos, quizzes and more. We will also be meeting as a whole ‘virtual camp’ each day with an opening and closing ceremony as well as evening entertainment. Those that ‘camp’ at home will also gain additional nights away.
You will need to have access to Zoom on a laptop or Computer as the sessions will not be suitable for viewing and interacting on mobile phones. Some badges may also benefit from some parent/guardian support over the course of the weekend.
Applications will be open until Tuesday 22nd September after which we will be allocating places on badges and communicating this via email. Forms required to apply and can be found below.
